Slobodan Macura

Slobodan Macura is a local artist who has been painting for over 20 years. His interest in painting is as strong as his passion to live. He is self taught and is inspired by every breath that he takes and the single moment in which he exists. He begins his work without a conceived concept, purely relying on his emotional need to justify the tangibility of the self. Macura searches for the feeling of love with every mark and establishes patterns to create motion. His mark making is a process that reflects the notion of constant change with a desire towards perfection. Macura refers to the colour spectrum as “the rhythm of heavenly music” from which he draws the desire to use specific hues. His paintings suggest an emotional dialogue and ultimately define a form within a symmetrically balanced composition that captures and records a spiritual sensation beyond words. His work has been collected by many private art enthusiasts through out the GTA. Price Range $4000 - $6000

Mazur

Chris Masoure was born in Toronto, 1957. He studied the fine arts at the Art Institute of America in Florida. Chris Masoure is a local painter with lifetime experience within the visual fine arts. Masoure is the son of the late Leon E. Masoure, a restoration specialist at the AGO and ROM, who has shown his work with the Canadian Masters, the Group of Seven. Surrounded by art, Masoure developed an expression that can be understood through an abstract dialogue. His process deals with multi-layered application, using knives and paintbrushes. Using a high energy approach, formless patterns emerge as a foundation for attaining balance. The observer is encouraged to experience Masoure’s marks and how they relate to one another. Thoughtfully working your way from the high saturated rough marks to the soft monochromatic backdrops to hard contrasting accents makes his work visually stimulating. Like a story, his visual language expresses details that reflect his own being. Price Range $900 - $3000

Milos Bojovic

Milos Bojovic has been painting for the most his life. Born in Serbia in 1960, Bojovic completed his art studies at the Fine Arts Academy in Serbia, studying intensely the techniques of the old masters. Since then, Bojovic has established many collections around the world, and continues to explore the emotional boundaries of representational expression in contemporary art culture. He found his inspiration from Paul Gaugin's "Where Do We Come From? What Are We? Where Are We Going?" painting (1898), and he challenges us by stating that it is important to watch the past masters and how they created beautiful art; how we are surviving to find a way in art; and paving a path to the fulfillment of art's purpose. Bojovic is a master at capturing atmosphere and creating beautiful colour harmony.

Nada Annan

When Nada discovered painting, it was love at first stroke, because it allowed her the chance to translate inspiration into instant colour. Every painting she does is an exploration, combining focus with intuitive freedom. Her career began by copying from impressionist artists under the tutelage of known experts in the field. Then she studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Beirut (Lebanon) where she was born. She enjoys painting still life, landscapes and figures and is noted for her use of deep and rich colours, her artwork has a touch of impressionism that makes the viewer feel connected to the past and yet there is a contemporary feel to it through the use of vibrant colours and the strokes of the palette knife. Her works have been included in numerous group and one-person shows in Lebanon, Cyprus, England and Canada, and her art has been exhibited in a number of galleries, in Europe, the United States and Canada.

Guiding the viewer into a realm of new possibilities, engaging them in conversation is foremost amongst my goals. Inspired by the environment and the energy we reverently call “Mother Nature”, these paintings depict the movement of the wind, the grasses and/or the water while creating familiar, sometimes unsettling scenes. They can take on a life of there own as they are poignant pieces that speak of man’s plight and nature’s power, of apprehension and hope, time and loss. An often time there is one entity in the vastness of the landscape, creating questions of purpose and destination. Leading the viewer towards and around the painting to a place where there is emptiness of space, a void in our conscious memory. It is here that one can “daydream” and find hope. The study of colour and depth are paramount as I continue to envision more as time goes by. These works are the embodiment of my training in the renaissance techniques, my love of nature, my playfulness, my constant questioning and my struggle to paint a vision, not necessarily the visible.

"I became an artist to translate the surrounding world into my own language. I transform my emotions into art pieces which can say about me more than anything else. The only time I am truly content is when I have a chance to create. My paintings are an emotional manifesto, which emphasize the ultimate visual impact. My uncontrolled imagination is a crucial part of my work and the greatest formation of my visual language. I use my brush as powerful tool of self-expression. I transform simple and refined shapes into dramatic scenery of graceful forms , brilliant colours and texture. This is where they all together become a true reflection of forever changing world."
